MY SISTER

Well, I guess it wasn't so long after all until I was ready to write another page in the ongoing story of my adoption/search/reunion.  I finally met my sister (bdad's side), JoAnne.  I can't begin to tell you how absolutely exciting and terrifying and flat out wonderful meeting her has been.
JoAnne and I are not your run of the mill sisters. *grin*  We are only 16 days apart in age.  What makes it all even more fun for both of us is that we look very much alike and have a lot of the same personality traits as well.  In other words...now there's two of us!  LOL  I know it has both her boyfriend and my husband a little uneasy thinking about all the things that we could come up with together.  They've always thanked God that there was only one….well….surprise guys!!  Now there's two!!!  Hehehehe
JoAnne and I were flabbergasted to learn in talking with each other that, we grew up in the same town not 10 minutes away from each other.  I went to school on the west side of town, and she went to school on the east side.
To make it even more interesting, we both heard many times from people meeting us that they thought they had met/seen us somewhere before and failing that, would ask….So you must have a sister then huh?  It seems the joke was on us.  We did have a sister but we didn't know it at the time.  Amazingly, no one we ever knew put 2 and 2 together.
Also to add to the family and the fun, I now have three (3) nieces to learn about, spoil and love!  JoAnne's daughters are Jackie, Jessica and Justice and are the most adorable little girls.  I've already started my campaign to drive JoAnne nuts by spoiling the girls starting with a banana split that JoAnne said they couldn't have.  Rest assured sis, there's lots more damage to be done in the future! *grin*
Now, well, it seems that I have finally found the other half of me.  I am so very excited to know my sister and to become a part of her life.  There is sorrow at all we have missed out on in each others lives to date, but the joy of learning about each other and becoming sisters in the true sense of the word now is more than enough for me.  I can't wait for the day when I can tell stories on JoAnne and embarrass her as my brother and I do now to each other and for her to be able to do the same.  Now that's a sibling relationship.  LOL
So, to all of you who are searching, keep your chin up, your heart open and never ever give up.  My search, after 9 1/2 years, is finally almost over.  I have only one more sibling to find and then, finally, the search years portion of my story and life will be closed and the rest of my life open to all of the joys and possibilities.
