REUNITED!

I had three people who were definite possibilities for my birth mother, but just had this weird gut feeling about one of them.  I tried hard to find something to cobborate my feeling that this was HER but didn't turn up anything for a while.  I eventually set aside my search for a while to help others with their searches just to give myself a break for a while.
I then found someone else's birth mother for her and boy was that the most unbelievable feeling!  It really fueled me on my own search.  So once again I decided to start back at the beginning and ran a phone search for her in the last couple of areas I had found that she had been at in recent years.  I almost fell out of my chair when I found a phone listing for a person with her maiden name, living at one of the old addresses I had for my birth mom.  I knew this had to be more than a coincidence and was sure that this person had to be a relative.
Not knowing this person and how they may be related to my birth mom, I decided to send a letter addressed to my birth mom to this address hoping that the person there would pass it along to her.  So on a Thursday morning, I had my daughter put the envelope in our mailbox for pickup by the mailman since I couldn't seem to do it myself.
Saturday morning of that same week in September, I got a phone call.  It was my birth mom, Jami!  I tell you, I was floored!  I never expected to receive a call that fast.  I stood there in my kitchen with the phone to my ear and my head between my knees (yes….I thought I might vomit I was sooooooo unprepared!) and kept saying "Oh my God!".  (Go ahead and laugh…..I do!)
Well, I got past being freaked out and finally started to talk with her.  It was so much more than I ever could have imagined.  We talked for several hours, sharing, laughing, crying.  I had found an absolutely wonderful woman who had always loved me and never forgotten me.  More than that, I found 4 half sisters and a lot more family including aunts, uncles and a grandmother.
When we finally got off the phone, I was just dying to call my parents and tell them everything.  I forgot until I got their answering machine that they were both out of town!  *grin*  So I called my brother…..he was a t work!  AHHHH!!  I finally got a hold of my best friend, Jason, and we talked for a long time about everything, then talked with my brother the next day and finally my parents came home and I was able to tell them everything that I had found and learned.  Such a wonderful experience all the way around for me.
Since finding Jami, we have spoken on the phone several times, email each other frequently, and have mastered instant messenger so we can chat privately online.  We hope to be able to meet face to face soon to finally complete this long journey of ours that has lasted 27 years.
